Born and bred in Auckland, I truly feel lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the country.

I’m an avid sports fan, however I was never as good at playing as I am at watching and offering the TV my own commentary! My family is the most important thing to me, but I also love a quiet one with mates from time to time.

I love to surround myself with positive thinking happy people. I discovered a passion for event planning, especially weddings, after my own wedding day was such fun (thanks Tracey). Since that day Tracey & I spent many years searching for the right venue, and then we came across Bridgewater Country Estate. From the moment I first drove into the carpark I fell in love with the property and I’m sure you will too!

My goal is to provide our clients with a great, ever evolving venue where they and their guests can relax and enjoy a special day they will remember for the rest of their lives.

Weddings are my passion.  What other job is out there that allows you to be surrounded by amazing people all celebrating a moment in a couples life that they will never forget. 

Previous to Bridgewater I was in the world of corporate organisations holding various roles within Human Resources, most currently the position as HR Director for Australia and New Zealand for a large global IT organisation.  Through my career in Human Resources I have learnt many skills that I see as transferrable into Bridgewater Estate, having run large corporate events over the years such as charity golf days, Corporate Christmas Events and Large Corporate Workshops.  

As co-owner of Bridgewater Estate, flexibility and being organised is my strength and it is my personal aim to make this as stress-free as possible for our brides and grooms.   

Rene Plank


I was born in Austria (Vienna) and grew up in Italy (Emilia Romagna), spent some time in Uruguay (South America) before working on different international Cruise Liners (Celebrity Cruise Lines, Sea Cloud Cruises, Costa Crociere).

In Austria, I worked in different hotels and restaurants: from fine dining to basic bistros, from classic cuisine to typical European dishes. On the cruise ships, I had great insight into international dishes: South and Middle American, Caribbean, Mediterranean and Nordic. With my wife, I experienced Asian cuisine, which I practiced with different approaches in Sky City and Urban Gourmet (both in Auckland). I love to collect chef books and researching about different cultures and styles of food.
